The Munich Parzival manuscript is the earliest surviving illustrated copy of Wolfram von Eschenbach's Arthurian epic. Also included are one of the oldest and most complete exemplars of his Titurel, as well as both of his Tagelieder (dawn songs). Created in the mid-thirteenth century in an Alsatian professional scriptorium, the Parzival is illustrated with four full-page miniatures, each in three registers. These illustrations visualize Parzival's adventures in an early Gothic style, with scenes at times inspired by Christian religious iconography.
We have 1 facsimile edition of the manuscript "Munich Parzival": Parzival, Titurel, Tagelieder facsimile edition, published by Mueller & Schindler, 1970
