The Vatican Book of Hours Vat. Lat. 10293 is a lavishly decorated Christian prayer book. Produced in Flanders around 1500, it boasts fifteen full-page miniatures with decorated borders, each facing a page with a large decorated initial and a painted border, as well as four three-quarter-page miniatures and twelve quarter borders with signs of the zodiac. The fifteen fully illuminated openings are distinguished by the coordinated architectural motifs of their borders rendered in opulent gold.
