The Regnault and Jeanneton manuscript in the National Library of Russia is the unique surviving manuscript of a French-language pastoral poem probably composed by René I, King of Naples and Jerusalem. The poem celebrates the king's love for his second wife, Jeanne, who is represented as Jeanneton in the poem's love story. The manuscript was created in France between 1492 and 1495 at René's behest for Jeanne, whose coat of arms is pictured together with his in the book. It features seventy-four charming narrative illustrations occupying the pages' margins.
We have 1 facsimile edition of the manuscript "Regnault and Jeanneton": Les Amours de René d'Anjou facsimile edition, published by AyN Ediciones, 2002
