This book of hours, dating back to the early 16th century, is adorned with numerous illustrations and lavish decorations. Up to folio 141v, the miniatures are the work of an illuminator close to the circle of Jean Bourdichon, operating in the same milieu as the artist of the miniatures in the Heures de Morin d'Arfeuille (Ms 1397 of the Condé Museum in Chantilly), to which Cavense 47 is closely related. However, the decoration of the last two folios (142 and 143) is by a more modest hand that emulates the motifs and style of the former. The miniatures feature abundant use of blue, gold, and gold leaf. The manuscript includes ornate initials and is written in Gothic script. It contains the Officium "a l'usage de Paris" and the calendar in French.
