The London Travels of John Mandeville is a series of twenty-eight full-page miniatures painted in Prague in the 1410s to accompany the Czech translation of a popular text that is a pilgrimage guide combined with observations about the topography, naturalia, and life at the courts of Asia and North Africa, a text credited to the fictional Sir John Mandeville. The artist of the distinctive green-tinted semi-grisaille images—with figures in tones of soft green and landscape features and backgrounds in full color—is known as the Master of the Mandeville Travels after these paintings.
