The Life of Saint Benedict in the Biblioteca Teresiana is a fifteenth-century manuscript of Gregory the Great's biography of the sixth-century founder of Benedictine monasticism. Made at San Benedetto in Polirone, it features eighty-seven delicate pen-and-ink drawings depicting the early medieval saint in early modern garb and architectural settings. The drawings are in brown and black inks, and the artist has carefully established space through rigorous linear perspective.
