The collection of Letters and Aesop’s Fables brings together Martin Luther’s letters in German and Latin, written between 1516 and 1533, along with his translation into German of a selection of moralizing animal tales associated with the ancient Greek writer Aesop. Luther saw the Greek fables as allegories of Christian parables and used them in his sermons. The paper leaves produced by Luther were pasted onto larger sheets of paper. Also included are seventeenth- and eighteenth-century copies of Luther’s letters and other writings (fols. 16-21).
We have 1 facsimile edition of the manuscript "Letters and Aesop's Fables": Martin Luther. Briefe und Aesop-Fabeln facsimile edition, published by Belser Verlag, 1983
