The Cervera Vera Hours, named for its twentieth-century owner, is an illuminated manuscript prayer book designed for use in Christian lay devotions. Made in Bruges in the mid-fifteenth century, the manuscript is small enough to be held comfortably in the devotee's hands. It includes a cycle of eight prayer services (known as the Hours of the Virgin) to be recited daily. Also present are the Seven Penitential Psalms, which express sorrow over sin and spiritual failure. The illumination includes eight full-page miniatures, primarily scenes from the infancy of Christ.
We have 1 facsimile edition of the manuscript "Cervera Vera Hours": Horas de la Virgen María facsimile edition, published by Círculo Científico, 2005
