The Girolamini Seneca is a deluxe manuscript of the ten tragedies attributed to the ancient Roman philosopher Lucius Annaeus Seneca the Younger. Made in southern Italy in the last quarter of the fourteenth century, it boasts splendid illumination in vibrant colors by the Master of the Girolamini Seneca, named for his work in this book. Extending over eighty-seven pages, the decoration takes the form of episode-by-episode illustration of the plots of the first four plays—Hercules furens, Troades, Phoenissae, and Medea—in 229 scenes.
We have 1 facsimile edition of the manuscript "Girolamini Seneca": Seneca. Il Teatro facsimile edition, published by Istituto dell'Enciclopedia Italiana - Treccani, 2018
