The Drawings of the Ruins of Rome, or Disegni de le ruine di Roma e come anticamente erono, comprises forty-six pen-and-ink panoramas of ancient Roman ruins as observed in the sixteenth century with descriptive captions. Many of the illustrations are preceded by artistically reconstructed views of the same buildings. The work was once attributed to French engraver and landscape architect Étienne Dupérac who lived in Rome until 1578 but is now credited to an anonymous Roman artist. The volume was produced in Rome and is dated to around 1574-1575.
We have 1 facsimile edition of the manuscript "Drawings of the Ruins of Rome": Disegni de le ruine di Roma facsimile edition, published by Amilcare Pizzi, 1963
