The Guarneriana Manuscript of Dante's Divine Comedy was produced at the beginning of the fifteenth century, likely in Florence. It includes a unique partial translation of the poem into Latin hexameters and commentary, including the Latin-language commentary to Inferno by Graziolo De' Bambaglioli. Two identifiable scribes, the notary Paolo di Guido Puccini and Piero Bonaccorsi, wrote the text. The manuscript's decoration program, although never completed, includes a historiated initial with a portrait of the poet (fol. 2r).
