The Book of Islands—or Isolario—by the author known as Bartolommeo da li Sonetti is a collection of sonnets on navigating the Aegean archipelago with accompanying maps. The author's identity is debated: he may be the mathematician Bartolomeo Zamberti. Guglielmo dal Trino printed the volume in Venice, probably before or in 1486. The forty-nine woodcut navigational sea charts, believed to be the first to be printed, have been delicately hand-colored in the Madrid copy.
